😉 I knew you could be counted on! I hope that you enjoyed the podcast. Thank you very much for watching the movie with me. And now you have heard my opinions that I had to save up for the podcast so that I did not miss things or over repeat myself. LOL

Yeah, I think the thing that the movie really didn’t show is that Katniss is pretty much convinced that District 13 was strong and independent enough that they could have started helping out and leading a rebellion ages ago, but that they basically did nothing until the other Districts threw in themselves and 13 thought they’d be on the winning side. So it wasn’t as much “oppressed being as evil as the oppressors” as “opportunistic third faction lets oppression continue until they themselves can benefit.”

I would have been very interested in seeing that narrative, that opportunistic angle. Because that’s OFTEN how things go, giant political rebellions aside, like day-to-day. People fence-sit until they see the side that looks like it’s gonna come out on top. Then they throw in with them, and seek to grab power. ::totally not bitter about a thing:: >.>

The end was like… ham-fisted to a ridiculous degree on the “we’re just as eeeeevil!” or at least that President Coin was painted that way.

So you saw the movie and read the book, Liz? Did you see all the others? Where do you fall in the “which one was most enjoyable” for the movies if you did?
